Hastelloy Nickel Alloy B2 is an amazingly chemical resistant alloy that is highly resistant to pitting and stress corrosion cracking in the heat-affected zone. In particular this alloy performs well in harsh environment such as sulfuric acid, hydrogen chloride, and phosphoric acids. This nickel-molybdenum alloy is commonly used in extreme reducing conditions, and has a much lower Carbon, Silicon, and Iron composition when compared to Hastelloy B (Alloy B). Studs made from this alloy are also known as UNS N10665 fasteners.
It should be noted that Alloy B2 isn’t engineered for applications with temperatures ranging between 1000F-1600F.
