IN STOCK…. Lightning Bolt offers many types of specialty bolts including Hastelloy washers. Common types include hastelloy flat washers, hastelloy lock washers, and even hastelloy belleville washers.
Lightning Bolt recognizes Hastelloy for its resilient high-temperature stability which is evidenced by high ductility and corrosion resistance even after aging in the 1200 to 1900°F (649 to 1038°C) range. Common alloys include Hastelloy 276, X, G, B, 2000, and C4. Hastelloy is also resistant against the formation of grain-boundary precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone. Therefore, it is suitable for many chemical process applications in the as-welded condition. Hastelloy alloy also has excellent resistance to stress-corrosion cracking and to oxidizing atmospheres up to 1900°F (1038°C).
Hastelloy washers are typically puched or cut from sheets of hastelloy to form the washer. Hastelloy belleville washers are custom manufactured to the desired application. However, the alloy can be forged, hot-upset, and impact extruded. It should be noted that although the alloy tends to work-harden, it can be successfully deep-drawn, spun, press formed or punched. Common forms of welding can be used on this superalloy. The use of hastelloy fasteners is intended for use in corrosion service. It should be noted that special precautions should be taken to avoid excessive heat.
Hastelloy alloy fasteners such as hex cap screws, bolts, nuts, studs, washers, and socket head cap screws are in use due to their outstanding resistance to wide variety of chemical process environments. Many of these applications can include hot contaminated mineral acids, solvents, chlorine and chlorine contaminated media (organic and inorganic), dry chlorine, formic and acetic acids, acetic anhydride, and seawater and even brine solutions.
Specials alloy fasteners are our “specialty”, however standard items also within our capabilities include:
