Hastelloy C-4 Studs

Hastelloy C-4 Studs IN STOCK….Lightning Bolt offers many types of specialty bolts including Hastelloy C-4 studs and hastelloy c4 stud bolts.

Hastelloy C-4 studs are also known by their UNS N06455. C-4 fasteners are commonly used in reactors and heat exchangers due it microspopic characteristics of being the msot stable of the nickel-chormium-molbdenum alloys.

Known by many for their resistance to harsh chemicals, (ie sulfuric acid, chlorides, and hydrocholorid acid), Hastelloy C4 fasteners are readily made since the material can be easily welded without worry of sensitization.

Lightning Bolt recognizes Hastelloy C-4 for its resilient high-temperature stability which is evidenced by high ductility and corrosion resistance even after aging in the 1200 to 1900°F (649 to 1038°C) range. Hastelloy C4 is also resistant against the formation of grain-boundary precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone.  Therefore, it is suitable for many chemical process applications in the as-welded condition. Hastelloy C-4 alloy also has excellent resistance to stress-corrosion cracking and to oxidizing atmospheres up to 1900°F (1038°C).

Stud bolts made of HASTELLOY C-4 can be forged, hot-upset, and impact extruded. It should be noted that although the alloy tends to work-harden, it can be successfully deep-drawn, spun, press formed or punched. Common forms of welding can be used on this superalloy.

HASTELLOY C-4 alloy, although the oxy-acetylene and submerged arc processes are not recommended when the fabricated item is intended for use in corrosion service. Special precautions should be taken to avoid excessive heat.

HASTELLOY C-4 alloy fasteners such as hex cap screws, bolts, nuts, studs, washers, and socket head cap screws are in use due to their outstanding resistance to wide variety of chemical process environments. These include hot contaminated mineral acids, solvents, chlorine and chlorine contaminated media (organic and inorganic), dry chlorine, formic and acetic acids, acetic anhydride, and seawater and brine solutions.
